  • Addresses bullying claims involving ex-director Christine Holman.

At WiseTech Global's (ASX:WTC) annual general meeting, founder and outgoing chief executive Richard White addressed allegations of inappropriate behavior during board discussions. White firmly denied claims of misconduct when dealing with disagreements involving board members or executives.

In response to queries about his interactions with WiseTech’s chairman Richard Dammery, White stated, “I don’t have any problems in speaking strongly about what I think is right for the company.” He emphasized that his discussions have always been rooted in logic and intellect, even when differences of opinion arose.

The CEO highlighted that his exchanges with Dammery have always been constructive and grounded in mutual respect. “Richard [Dammery] has always pushed back reasonably … I’ve never taken the view that I need to push or do anything else other than speak logically and intellectually,” White said, defending his approach to decision-making within the company’s leadership.

The remarks come amid allegations that White has exhibited bullying behavior toward his staff and former director Christine Holman, who left the board in 2019. While White did not directly address the accusations of bullying during the meeting, he reaffirmed his commitment to fostering a professional environment based on rational discourse.

The controversy surrounding White has sparked discussions about leadership dynamics and workplace culture within companies. WiseTech has been in the spotlight not only for its strong performance in the technology sector but also for these internal disputes. As White prepares to step down as CEO, the company’s governance practices remain a focal point for stakeholders.

White’s legacy at WiseTech includes spearheading the company’s growth into a global leader in supply chain software solutions. However, these allegations add complexity to his tenure as he transitions leadership. The company’s commitment to transparency and professional engagement among its leadership team remains critical as it moves forward.

The annual general meeting also highlighted WiseTech’s future outlook under incoming leadership, though the focus remained on addressing the pressing concerns about the workplace culture. This incident underscores the importance of aligning professional relationships and fostering mutual respect to drive business success in any organization.
