Highlights
- Green Technology Metals identifies a new pegmatite zone at its Seymour Lithium Project.
- Drilling program results support future resource updates for the project.
- Definitive feasibility study on track for completion in 2025.
Green Technology Metals (ASX:GT1) has made a significant discovery at the Eastern Hub Aubury Deposit of its Seymour Lithium Project in Ontario, Canada. The company has identified a new pegmatite zone, referred to as the “north upper zone,” through its extensional diamond drilling program. The pegmatite zone lies near the surface, with an average thickness ranging between 2.6 and 6.4 meters and grades exceeding 1.2%.
Two shallow drill holes have confirmed continuity of mineralization, reinforcing the potential of this area to be included in a future mineral resource update. This discovery highlights the ongoing exploration success at Seymour, which remains a key focus for Green Technology Metals in expanding its North American lithium portfolio.
Expanding Exploration Efforts
In addition to the Seymour drilling campaign, the company has launched a 6,900-meter diamond drilling program at the Junior Lithium Project, located 20 kilometers east of Seymour. This program aims to identify further high-priority targets and expand the company’s understanding of its lithium assets in Ontario.
Although deeper drilling at the north upper zone revealed thinner-than-expected pegmatite intercepts with lower lithium grades, Green Technology Metals remains optimistic about future prospects. The company has identified several untested targets in the project area and plans to focus upcoming drilling on high-priority targets near the Aubury Deposit.
Strategic Progress and Feasibility Study
Green Technology Metals is advancing its definitive feasibility study (DFS) for the Seymour Project, scheduled for completion in 2025. Key workstreams include mine and pit optimization, a geotechnical program, metallurgical testing, and plant and site optimization.
The company is also working on updating its mineral resource estimate (MRE) to reflect new drilling data and current lithium market dynamics. The Seymour MRE currently stands at 10.3 million tonnes at 1.03% lithium, with the company’s total North American resources, including the Root Project, amounting to 24.9 million tonnes at 1.13% lithium.
With its focus on becoming a leading lithium producer in Ontario, Green Technology Metals is leveraging its experienced team and strategic location near Thunder Bay to build an integrated lithium production business. As exploration and feasibility studies progress, the Seymour Lithium Project continues to play a pivotal role in the company’s North American lithium strategy.
