Highlights
- Visible chalcopyrite found at Mt Isa North’s Queens Gift prospect
- Multiple copper and uranium prospects advancing across Antares’ tenements
- Drill activities continue at additional key project sites
Antares Metals (ASX:AM5) has reported the discovery of visible chalcopyrite mineralisation at the Queens Gift prospect, part of its broader Mt Isa North Copper Project in Queensland. The find adds further significance to an already promising area that has shown existing copper and uranium mineralisation potential. This development further enhances Antares Metals' standing among ASX mining stocks, highlighting the company’s exploration success and the growing interest in the region’s mineral potential.
During a recent fieldwork program, Antares completed rock chip sampling across five prominent outcrops along a 1-kilometre strike zone at Queens Gift. The samples exhibited sulphide mineralisation, including the presence of chalcopyrite and pyrite. Radiation levels were measured using a handheld RadEye PRD scintillometer, followed by portable x-ray fluorescence (pXRF) analysis. Full assay results are anticipated within the next 4–6 weeks.
The company aims to enhance its understanding of the geology at Queens Gift by integrating rock sampling insights with geophysical data. This information will help guide further reconnaissance and mapping activities within the surrounding area. The initiative reflects Antares' strategy to progressively unlock the value of its Mt Isa North Copper Project through systematic exploration.
In parallel with efforts at Queens Gift, Antares is preparing to initiate drilling at its Calton Hill prospect. This next step follows the receipt of new geophysical interpretations that have refined target areas. Additionally, phase one drilling is underway at the Conglomerate Creek Copper Project, and phase three planning is progressing for Surprise, another copper-rich project in the portfolio.
Antares’ exploration approach spans multiple tenements, underscoring a diversified and data-driven strategy. The focus remains on expanding copper and uranium prospects through disciplined and strategic field programs.
The company’s portfolio spans across Mt Isa and Carlingup, positioning it within a resource-rich geological corridor known for base metals. While Antares Metals is not among the ASX 100 companies, its developments are drawing increasing attention within Australia's exploration space.
With promising field indicators and a structured pipeline of exploration milestones, Antares Metals continues to strengthen its position as a committed player in the Australian mineral exploration landscape. The results from upcoming assays, along with expanded drilling efforts, could pave the way for further discovery and value creation.
