Highlights
- New gold-copper anomaly identified at Ularring Project
- Chatham target aligns with key geophysical signatures
- Exploration shift focused on high-potential new zones
Constellation Resources (ASX:CR1) has made a significant discovery at its 100%-owned Ularring Project in Western Australia, identifying a newly defined, high-priority gold-copper anomaly named the Chatham target. This marks a major step in expanding the project's exploration upside, especially as the company refocuses efforts on zones with elevated potential.
Chatham Target Emerges as Standout Prospect
Covering 1.3 kilometres by 0.45 kilometres, the Chatham anomaly is located along the prominent Meenar Shear Corridor. This zone is underpinned by robust gold and copper soil geochemistry, aligning with historical geophysical data and elemental signatures known to support mineralisation across the Ularring region.
The discovery resulted from a maiden Ultrafine+ soil sampling program comprising 436 samples on a 100x80 metre grid. This initiative returned highly encouraging maximum values of 78 ppb gold and 1,126 ppm copper, alongside notable signals in silver, tungsten, tellurium, and platinum group elements. Notably, the anomaly is structurally aligned with a late-time Versatile Time Domain Electromagnetic (VTEM) feature, indicative of a sulphide-rich conductive zone below surface—making it an attractive candidate for drilling.
Drilling Update at Centre Forest Supports Expansion
While exploration efforts are now concentrated on Chatham, Constellation also provided updates from diamond drilling at the Centre Forest prospect. This area has previously been the project's most advanced target. Diamond hole CFDD002, drilled 680 metres along strike from known mineralisation, intersected:
- 7.88 metres at 0.17 g/t gold and 0.12% copper from 463 metres
- 1.21 metres at 0.18 g/t gold and 0.29% copper from 477.75 metres
Although Centre Forest exhibits broad and continuous mineralisation across 1.1 kilometres, grades have mostly remained below 1 g/t gold, prompting a strategic redirection to Chatham for potential higher-grade results.
Outlook for Broader Ularring Exploration
Constellation plans to advance its Chatham prospect with additional infill soil sampling and a reconnaissance drilling program. The Ularring Project itself spans 222 square kilometres in a geologically rich corridor of the Archaean Yilgarn Craton—home to significant deposits like the Boddington Mine and the porphyry-copper project operated by Caravel Minerals (ASX:CVV).
The 24 kilometres of largely unexplored shear zones across Ularring offer considerable room for future discoveries. As interest in mineral-rich ASX200 resources remains strong, this evolving project positions Constellation well for continued investor attention. With exploration momentum building and new targets like Chatham coming into focus, Constellation is well-placed to uncover further gold and copper opportunities within one of Australia’s most prospective mineral belts.
