Highlights
- Extensive drilling planned at Idenburg and Trenggalek to expand resources.
- Targeting high-priority porphyry and epithermal zones for potential discoveries.
- Initial scout drilling at Woyla to explore high-grade gold veins.
Far East Gold (ASX:FEG) has unveiled its 2025 exploration and drilling roadmap, focusing on expanding its resource base and unlocking new potential across its Idenburg and Trenggalek projects. The company’s aggressive approach aims to further develop its gold and copper assets through a strategic drilling program, with results anticipated to shape future growth.
Idenburg Gold Project – Expanding a 540,000-Ounce Resource
At Idenburg, the upcoming drilling campaign is set to enhance the existing 540,000-ounce gold resource by targeting key extensions and untested areas. The planned 32-hole diamond drilling program, covering 3,670 metres, is designed to refine resource estimates and identify new mineralization zones.
- Sua Prospect (1,120m, 5 holes) – Focusing on extensions of known gold deposits.
- Bermol Prospect (1,050m, 8 holes) – Testing further continuity of mineralization.
- Mafi Prospect (500m, 7 holes) – Evaluating mapped extensions of previous discoveries.
- Kwaplu Prospect (1,000m, 12 holes) – A maiden drilling initiative in this region.
With Kwaplu hosting a significant gold-in-soil anomaly, the company’s first-ever drilling in this area could uncover additional resource potential.
Trenggalek Project – High-Priority Copper-Gold Targets
At Trenggalek, a total of 18 diamond drill holes spanning 5,740 metres will focus on both porphyry copper and epithermal gold systems.
- Sumber Bening (1,450m, 2 holes) – Testing high-sulphidation alteration zones and deep geophysical anomalies.
- Singgahan (1,550m, 2 holes) – Investigating porphyry copper-gold mineralization.
- Buluroto (900m, 2 holes) – Exploring depth extensions of a previously drilled breccia zone.
- Buluroto Epithermal Vein System (1,840m, 12 holes) – Targeting a 500m untested vein network.
With historical drilling at Buluroto confirming promising mineralization, the next phase of exploration seeks to expand these findings.
Woyla Project – New Scout Drilling on High-Grade Veins
Far East Gold has also outlined a five-hole, 500-metre scout drilling program at the Woyla Project’s Kareung Reuboeh prospect. This area features a 6km-long structural corridor with multiple high-grade quartz veins identified through surface sampling. Previous assays from exposed veins returned significant gold values, positioning this prospect as a high-priority exploration target.
The company’s aggressive exploration strategy underscores its commitment to resource expansion and discovery, with drilling results expected to guide future project developments.
