PointsBet Holdings Limited (ASX:PBH) today morning released a pleasing update on the ASX, informing the investors that the company has appointed a new brand ambassador. After the announcement, PointsBet share price surged higher as investors started buying the shares.

The corporate bookmaker stated in the release that it had appointed basketball champion Shaquille O'Neal as an Australian brand ambassador. Shaquille O'Neal is a celebrity athlete-turned-businessman.  The 15-time NBA All-Star will now represent the cutting-edge corporate bookmaker brand in Australia. PointsBet has an app which offers products for sports bettors.

As per the agreement, O'Neal will star in the company's brand campaign to promote its products and services. The advertising campaign will be rolled out across various platforms.

Commenting on his collaboration with PointsBet, O'Neal said that the growth of responsible betting in the field of sports is exciting. He further said that he was excited to partner with PointsBet and be a part of the brand campaign. He also hailed PointsBet as the best partner to associate with when it comes to online sportsbooks.

PointsBet operates in Australia and the United States. The company has created a cloud-based wagering Platform which offers various products to its clients. Innovative sports products have a huge demand in the market. Primarily during the coronavirus pandemic when people were stuck at home, sports lovers greeted the sports-based products with a thumbs up.

Hailing Shaquille O'Neal as an iconic figure in the sports and entertainment arena, PointsBet Chief Marketing Officer and Co-Founder Andrew Fahey said that Shaq was the company's number one pick to be a brand ambassador. Moreover, the iconic star will take the partnership ahead with PointsBet in the form of equity. PointsBet Holdings Limited (ASX:PBH) share price is currently trading at A$16.090 and is 0.436 per cent up.
