Yandal Resources intersects a large gold mineralised zone at the Arrakis Prospect
Early drilling confirms continuity of gold-bearing structure over significant strike length
Remaining air-core drilling and assays to refine exploration focus in Yandal Belt
Gold exploration company Yandal Resources Ltd (ASX:YRL), listed on the All Ordinaries, has reported a major development at its Ironstone Well-Barwidgee Gold Project, located within the prolific Yandal Greenstone Belt in Western Australia. The company has uncovered an extensive zone of mineralisation at the Arrakis Prospect, part of the broader Caladan target area.
Initial results from its air-core drilling campaign have returned multiple intercepts that support the presence of a structurally controlled and continuous mineralised system across the prospect.
Early Intercepts Support Continuous Mineralised Shear Zone
Preliminary assays from the first pass of drilling show consistent gold mineralisation across several drill lines, spaced evenly along strike. The mineralisation is believed to be hosted within a northwest-trending shear cutting through altered dolerite units.
Yandal Resources’ geological team has identified strong gold grades from early-stage drilling, with mineralisation observed in holes across the initial section lines. These early intercepts coincide with a previously defined regolith anomaly stretching over several kilometres, which supports the idea of a deeper, primary gold-bearing structure below the surface geochemical footprint.
Caladan Program Progresses Toward Completion
The air-core drilling program at Caladan is now in its final phase, with the majority of planned holes already completed. The remaining drill collars are expected to be finalised shortly, with pending assay results to follow. The company has dispatched a large portion of samples to the lab, and additional data is anticipated to enhance understanding of the mineralised zone's extent and consistency.
These results follow up on gold mineralisation previously intercepted during late exploration efforts last year, and current drilling aims to validate the continuity and scale of the gold system.
Arrakis Shows Signature of a Large-Scale System
The geological consistency across the drill lines and the alignment with the regolith anomaly indicate that Arrakis could represent a larger mineralised corridor. Intercepts recorded from current drilling correlate with previous results from 2024, further strengthening confidence in the continuity of mineralisation.
Yandal Resources has indicated that further drilling may target extensions of the mineralised shear to both the southeast and northwest, with upcoming results likely to inform these decisions.
Exploration to Expand to Nearby Prospects
Following completion of the Caladan air-core program, Yandal Resources plans to mobilise drill equipment to the nearby New England Granite Prospect. This expansion reflects the company’s ongoing strategy to explore across the Yandal Belt, a region known for historical gold endowment and proximity to major operations such as the Jundee mining centre.
