Highlights:

  • Riversgold confirms high gold recovery rates from metallurgical testing at the Northern Zone Project

  • Final drill assays support geological modeling ahead of maiden Mineral Resource Estimate

  • Exploration aims to connect mineralised zones, drawing development parallels with nearby projects

Riversgold Ltd (ASX:RGL), a participant in the gold segment of the ASX 200 index, has reported favourable results from recent metallurgical and drilling activities at its Northern Zone Intrusive Hosted Gold Project, located east of Kalgoorlie in Western Australia. The latest developments underscore steady progress toward establishing a Mineral Resource Estimate for the site.

Metallurgical Tests Validate Gold Recovery Efficiency

The company has completed cyanide bottle roll tests on oxide samples obtained from both recent and historical drilling campaigns. Conducted by Jinnings Laboratories, these tests yielded consistent gold recovery results that align closely with earlier assessments by Nagrom. The outcomes indicate effective metallurgical characteristics within the oxide zones, affirming the site's capacity for early-stage gold processing strategies.

Samples derived from key drill holes, including NZRC008, demonstrated high levels of gold extraction. These figures reinforce the validity of the original assessments conducted during due diligence activities in the previous year. The metallurgical quality has added support to Riversgold's plan to assess starter pits for potential toll treatment routes, taking cues from neighbouring oxide pit operations such as Black Cat Syndicate Ltd’s (ASX:BC8) Myhree mine.

Final Assays Highlight Shallow Mineralised Zones

The company has received the final batch of assays from a recent drilling campaign consisting of both reverse circulation and aircore drilling. The campaign involved several dozen holes and spanned across various locations within the project area.

Significant intercepts included shallow, high-grade mineralisation, notably from drill holes NZRC012, NZRC016, and NZAC127. These results illustrate the presence of consistent mineralisation, with particular zones showing continuity between the western and eastern flanks of the project.

Drill collar plans and intercept data point to mineralisation extending across previously underexplored areas. Newly intersected mineralised zones in holes NZAC144 and NZAC145 mark fresh exploration targets that will be evaluated further.

Geological Modeling Aims to Link Mineralised Zones

Efforts are underway to refine geological and structural modeling of the project, with support from technical consultants at Xirlatem. The modeling will inform the design of upcoming drill programs and assist in defining a continuous corridor of gold mineralisation.

This integrated approach is intended to guide subsequent exploration and resource definition work as Riversgold advances toward its maiden Mineral Resource Estimate. The modeling will also contribute to understanding the broader structural trends within the Northern Zone.

Strategic Comparison to Nearby Gold Projects

Riversgold has drawn comparisons between its development strategy and those adopted by nearby projects in the region. In particular, Black Cat Syndicate’s Myhree mine, located a short distance to the north, has implemented a turnkey development model involving toll treatment of oxide material.

Additionally, Saturn Metals Ltd (ASX:STN) and its Apollo Hill Project serve as another point of reference. The large-scale approach at Apollo Hill, which employs a low-grade heap leach system, presents another benchmark for development pathways.

Based on geological similarities and project proximity, Riversgold anticipates aligning its next steps with operational models that have proven effective within the same mineral district. The company's current focus remains on delineating a mineralised link between existing zones and advancing the project toward its next phase of development.
