Questcorp progresses surface sampling at La Union Gold-Silver Project in Sonora
Technical team identifies stacked thrust faults and intrusive bodies across the site
Preparations for maiden drill campaign underway, including road maintenance
Questcorp Mining (CSE:QQQ), a Canadian exploration company, is building momentum at its La Union Gold-Silver Project located in Sonora, Mexico. While not listed on any ASX indices, the company’s activity in precious metals exploration continues to gain attention, especially as it prepares for a maiden drilling campaign.
The La Union Project spans a significant area with geological features aligned with carbonate-replacement-deposit systems. Sampling, mapping, and infrastructure enhancements are currently in progress as part of early-stage development.
Sampling and Geological Mapping Activities Underway
Questcorp’s geological team, supported by Riverside Resources, continues detailed surface work, including rock chip and soil sampling. These activities are designed to guide the upcoming drill program by better delineating mineralised zones and understanding subsurface structures.
Recent work has led to the discovery of previously unmapped intrusive bodies, which may contribute to additional manto-type mineralisation. These intrusions are seen as geologically significant within carbonate settings and offer insight into fluid pathways that may influence mineral concentration.
Thrust Fault Discovery Enhances Geological Interpretation
One of the notable developments from the ongoing surface campaign has been the identification of multiple stacked thrust faults in the primary mineralised zone. This geological feature is enhancing interpretations of fluid flow and mineral accumulation patterns, increasing the structural complexity within the target zones.
The mapping effort has played a key role in guiding drill site selection and adds confidence to the geological model ahead of the maiden drilling phase.
Site Preparation and Contractor Coordination Progressing
Questcorp has also initiated physical preparation at the site. Road maintenance is underway, ensuring accessibility for drilling equipment and contractor teams. Recent site visits by drilling contractors mark a step forward toward mobilising rigs for the planned campaign.
Samples collected during the surface program have been dispatched to laboratories for analysis. Results are expected to provide further clarity and inform prioritisation of targets.
Corporate Structure and Project Ownership Pathway
Questcorp Mining holds an option to acquire full ownership of the La Union Project from Riverside Resources (TSX-V:RRI). The terms involve structured payments, equity issuance, and expenditure commitments. While not part of the ASX 200, Questcorp’s strategic steps at La Union position the company within the broader network of North American resource developers with assets in Mexico.
