Flagship Minerals (ASX:FLG) completes placement to fund Pantanillo Gold Project in Chile
Joint arrangers GBA Capital and Novus Capital support equity raise with fee structure
Funds also allocated for work at Rosario Copper Project and metallurgical assessments
Flagship Minerals (ASX:FLG), a resource-focused entity listed on the ASX 200, is moving forward with exploration and development activities across its key assets. The company has completed an equity placement to support its Pantanillo Gold Project located in northern Chile, an asset within the gold exploration sector that aligns with industry-standard project advancement objectives.
This development reinforces Flagship’s focus on expanding its presence in precious and base metals, supporting global decarbonisation trends and demand for electrification-related materials. The funds raised are set to fuel project progression while reinforcing the company’s strategic goals.
Placement Details to Support Strategic Development
The recent placement arranged by GBA Capital and Novus Capital involved the issuance of new shares to new and existing shareholders. A portion of these shares was issued under the company’s existing placement capacity, with the balance covering convertible notes and associated instruments. Under the terms of the raise, one option is being offered for every two shares subscribed, with a defined exercise structure and expiration timeline.
GBA Capital and Novus Capital are to receive a fee based on a portion of the funds raised, acting as joint lead arrangers. The structure of the placement is intended to streamline the path towards feasibility and expand the project’s defined resource base.
Focus on Expanding Resource Estimates
Flagship Minerals is targeting a transition from its current qualifying foreign estimate to a mineral resource compliant with recognised reporting standards. The Pantanillo Gold Project hosts a large porphyry system that is viewed as amenable to open cut mining and heap leach processing.
Management highlighted that the recent capital raise will assist in refining geological understanding and upgrading estimates to a level consistent with established industry benchmarks. This expansion aligns with the company’s overall plan to progress the asset closer to advanced project stages.
Rosario Copper Project Receives Funding Allocation
Beyond Pantanillo, part of the placement proceeds will be directed toward ongoing exploration at the Rosario Copper Project. Trenching and fieldwork are expected to continue, alongside planned metallurgical testwork to enhance knowledge of the site’s characteristics.
This initiative reflects Flagship’s broader strategy of developing copper assets that support global electrification efforts. The copper-focused exploration complements its gold project, reinforcing its role in critical resource supply chains.
Exploration Model Aligned with Energy Transition Trends
Flagship Minerals (ASX:FLG) continues to explore and develop projects with exposure to copper and lithium, materials critical to advancing electrification and reducing emissions. With a diverse portfolio spanning key locations, the company is positioned within the broader resources sector contributing to sustainable technology transformation.
The completion of the recent equity raise further supports its ability to progress strategic assets while maintaining alignment with industry developments. Ongoing activities at Pantanillo and Rosario reflect a dual focus on growth and resource expansion across multiple commodities.
