SAP's Q3 2024 Performance Metrics Unveiled

SAP (NYSE:SAP) has announced impressive financial results for the third quarter of 2024, reflecting the company’s robust growth in the cloud segment and overall performance. Cloud revenue surged by 25% to €4.35 billion, while total revenue increased by 9% to €8.47 billion. These results highlight SAP's strong position in the enterprise software market and its commitment to delivering innovative solutions.

Key metrics further illustrate SAP's growth trajectory. The current cloud backlog grew by 25% to €15.38 billion, indicating strong future demand for its cloud offerings. Additionally, revenue from the Cloud ERP Suite saw significant growth, rising 34% to €3.64 billion. Profitability metrics also showcased strength, with IFRS operating profit increasing by 29% to €2.21 billion, and non-IFRS operating profit growing by 27% to €2.24 billion. Moreover, free cash flow experienced a substantial rise of 44%, reaching €1.25 billion.

In response to these positive results, SAP has revised its outlook for 2024. The company now anticipates cloud and software revenue to fall within the range of €29.5 billion to €29.8 billion. The revised estimates for non-IFRS operating profit and free cash flow are projected to be between €7.8 billion and €8.0 billion, and €3.5 billion to €4.0 billion, respectively.

SAP’s ongoing transformation program emphasizes the integration of artificial intelligence and operational efficiencies, ensuring that the company remains competitive in the rapidly evolving technology landscape. Recent initiatives include the acquisition of WalkMe, along with strong customer adoption of its ‘RISE with SAP’ and ‘GROW with SAP’ offerings.
