PagerDuty (NYSE:PD) unveiled new generative AI and automation features for PagerDuty Advance at AWS re:Invent 2024. The collaboration integrates Amazon Q Business, Amazon Bedrock, and Amazon Bedrock Guardrails with PagerDuty Advance to enhance incident management processes, aiming to streamline responses and reduce the impact of operational disruptions. The integration addresses the growing challenges posed by rising service disruptions, which saw a 43% increase last year, with each incident costing companies approximately $800,000. The new capabilities include AI-powered chat support for incident context, improved query response handling to prevent hallucinations, and a centralized interface to access critical incident data quickly.
Early adopters of these features have reported an average time saving of 30 minutes per incident, showcasing the potential for significant efficiency gains. The integration of Amazon Bedrock is now available in all PagerDuty regions, while the Amazon Q Business plugin is currently available in the U.S. service region. This partnership between PagerDuty and AWS supports nearly 6,000 joint customers, with over 330 organizations already using PagerDuty Advance to manage and resolve critical incidents. As the integration continues to expand, businesses can expect enhanced operational resilience and reduced incident response times.
