MEDIROM Healthcare Technologies Inc. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Koji Eguchi; listed on Nasdaq, NASDAQ: MRM) is pleased to announce that its subsidiary, MEDIROM MOTHER Labs Inc. (Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Yoshio Uekusa; hereinafter “MOTHER Labs”), has entered into a significant capital and business alliance with NFES Technologies Inc. (Headquarters: Matsue City, Shimane Prefecture; CEO: Keita Adachi; hereinafter “NFES Group”), a subsidiary of NFES Inc. (Headquarters: Matsue City, Shimane Prefecture; CEO: Keita Adachi).

As a cornerstone of this strategic partnership, NFES Group will lead the Series A financing round for MOTHER Labs, valuing the company at 9 billion yen on a pre-money basis. This financing round will see the issuance of Series A shares to NFES Group through a third-party allotment.

The alliance underscores a shared vision between NFES Group and MOTHER Labs. NFES Group, known for its commitment to enabling individuals to passionately pursue their interests, aligns with MOTHER Labs’ mission to address global health challenges. The collaboration centers around the MOTHER Bracelet, an innovative, recharge-free smart tracker designed to monitor health metrics efficiently.

The partnership aims to amplify the reach of the MOTHER Bracelet, supporting MOTHER Labs in its mission to enhance global health. The alliance also signals a mutual dedication to leveraging technology for societal benefit.

As part of the agreement, NFES Group will act as the lead investor and distributor for the MOTHER Bracelet and MOTHER Gateway, a telecommunication device that facilitates data transfer from the MOTHER Bracelet to MEDIROM’s remote monitoring system. These products will be introduced to various sectors including nursing care, transportation, and manufacturing. NFES Group will also collaborate with financial institutions and sales partners to promote these innovations.

In addition, MOTHER Labs will leverage NFES Group’s Hyakkaten.com, a regional department store e-commerce platform, to broaden its sales channels. This partnership aims to enhance product accessibility through department stores and online platforms nationwide.

NFES Group is establishing NFES Technologies Inc., a new entity dedicated to the sale of MOTHER Bracelet products. This company will spearhead both domestic and international sales efforts, positioning itself as the primary distributor for MOTHER Labs’ innovative health monitoring solutions.

The collaboration with NFES Group is expected to attract additional investors, providing MOTHER Labs with the capital needed for further business expansion and development. This strategic alliance marks a significant step forward in MEDIROM Healthcare Technologies Inc.’s mission to revolutionize health monitoring technology globally.
