LeddarTech® Holdings Inc. (Nasdaq:LDTC), a trailblazer in automotive software focused on low-level sensor fusion and perception software technology, has entered into a strategic licensing agreement with Solid State LiDAR Protection Inc. This collaboration grants Solid State LiDAR Protection the rights to produce and market LeddarTech's advanced LiDAR modules and sensor products, enhancing the landscape of automotive safety and automation.

LeddarTech's LiDAR technology, known for its robustness and reliability, has been instrumental in various applications, with over 65,000 units delivered since 2010. The agreement signifies a pivotal moment for LeddarTech, marking the completion of its remaining LiDAR activities while transitioning into a royalty-based licensing model. As part of this arrangement, Solid State LiDAR Protection will rebrand and commercialize the LiDAR products, enabling them to leverage LeddarTech’s established reputation in the market.

Michael Poulin, Vice-President of Corporate Strategy and Development at LeddarTech, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership, stating, “We are thrilled to partner with Solid State LiDAR Protection to serve the LiDAR market with the technology and products developed at LeddarTech.” This collaboration not only aims to bring innovative products to market but also reinforces LeddarTech’s commitment to maintaining a strong Canadian presence. Poulin emphasized that the entire business operation, including technology and commercialization, will remain in Quebec, thus supporting local employment and industry.

The agreement with Solid State LiDAR Protection is part of LeddarTech's broader strategy to establish a low-touch, high-margin business model through royalty-based licensing. In 2023, LeddarTech has also secured two additional strategic licenses with key partners, further demonstrating its commitment to advancing AI-driven automotive software solutions tailored for advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and autonomous driving (AD).

Allan Lee, President of Solid State LiDAR Protection, echoed the excitement surrounding the agreement. “This licensing agreement with LeddarTech aligns perfectly with our vision to bring advanced, solid-state LiDAR solutions to the market,” he stated. He highlighted that the proven performance and robustness of LeddarTech’s technology provide a significant competitive edge, enhancing their product offerings and addressing the evolving demands of global customers.

This partnership not only positions LeddarTech as a leader in automotive software but also underscores the growing importance of LiDAR technology in the automotive sector. As the industry moves toward greater automation and enhanced safety features, the demand for reliable, high-performance LiDAR systems continues to surge.

By partnering with Solid State LiDAR Protection, LeddarTech is set to amplify its impact on the market, ensuring that advanced LiDAR solutions are accessible and effective in enhancing the safety and efficiency of automated systems worldwide. This collaboration represents a significant step forward in the evolution of automotive technology, paving the way for smarter, safer vehicles.
