Himax Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq:HIMX), a leader in fabless display driver ICs and semiconductor products, has announced a groundbreaking Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Tata Electronics, a leader in India’s electronics manufacturing sector, and Powerchip Semiconductor Manufacturing Corporation (PSMC), a renowned Taiwanese foundry and technology transfer partner for Tata Electronics. This collaboration seeks to transform India's display and ultralow power AI sensing product and technology ecosystem while also addressing global market needs.
Under the terms of the MoU, Tata Electronics, Himax, and PSMC will leverage their collective strengths to offer comprehensive semiconductor solutions, ranging from chip design to manufacturing, packaging, and electronics manufacturing services (EMS). This partnership aims to deliver advanced "Made in India" solutions for the domestic market, while also designing and producing next-generation technologies to meet global demand. Their combined efforts are expected to enhance supply chain resilience and expand market outreach for display semiconductors and ultralow power AI sensing products.
