Sun Country Airlines (NASDAQ:SNCY) has introduced its first-ever custom-designed aircraft livery to honor its long-standing partnership with the University of Minnesota’s Golden Gopher Athletics. This move comes after the airline became the Official Airline of Gopher Athletics in 2023, marking an exciting new chapter in their collaboration. The airline, which has provided charter services to the university’s sports teams since 2012, has now taken the next step by showcasing the Golden Gophers’ iconic colors and logo on one of its planes.
Custom Aircraft Design and Symbolic Partnership
The new aircraft livery, which is painted on tail number 809, prominently features the Minnesota Block M and the university’s signature Maroon and Gold colors. One of the first flights of the newly designed aircraft will transport the Gopher football team to the Duke's Mayo Bowl in Charlotte, North Carolina, on December 30.
