Embraer has announced a significant expansion of its maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services network in the United States with the establishment of a new service center at Perot Field Alliance Airport in Fort Worth, Texas. This development aims to support the growing fleet of E-Jets and reflects the company’s commitment to enhancing its operations in the U.S. market.
In collaboration with the City of Fort Worth, Denton County, and the State of Texas, Embraer plans to commence operations in an existing hangar by the beginning of the second quarter of 2025. Additionally, a second hangar is slated for construction and completion by 2027. With these facilities, Embraer anticipates a remarkable 53% increase in its capacity to serve E-Jets customers in the U.S.
The total investment in this project could reach up to $70 million, which is expected to generate approximately 250 new jobs in Texas. Carlos Naufel, president and CEO of Embraer Services & Support, expressed enthusiasm about the approval for this expansion, emphasizing its significance for the company's ongoing investment in the U.S. market. "We have a long-standing relationship with the State of Texas and look forward to our partnership with Hillwood at Alliance," he stated.
The new Fort Worth service center will join Embraer’s extensive global network, which comprises 80 authorized centers and 12 owned service centers worldwide. This expansion is expected to bolster the local economy by providing high-quality jobs and reinforcing Fort Worth’s position as a hub for aerospace innovation.
Ross Perot Jr., chairman and CEO of Hillwood, welcomed Embraer to the region, stating, "This new facility will bring 250 high-quality jobs to Fort Worth and North Texas, further strengthening our region's role as a key hub for aerospace innovation." The collaboration is a clear demonstration of the area's robust aerospace and defense sector and its potential for continued growth.
Robert Allen, president and CEO of the Fort Worth Economic Development Partnership, echoed these sentiments, emphasizing the project's significance to the community and the industry. "This project stands as a clear testament to Fort Worth's robust aerospace and defense sector," he noted.
Denton County Judge Andy Eads highlighted the benefits of Embraer’s expansion, indicating that it would assist other aviation companies in the North Texas region and provide well-paying career opportunities for local residents. "This expansion of Embraer here will assist other aviation companies across the North Texas Region," he stated.
