Vertiv {NYSE:VRT} has significantly expanded its liquid cooling product portfolio with the launch of the Vertiv™ CoolPhase CDU and the Vertiv™ CoolChip Fluid Network. These new systems are designed to facilitate modular and cost-effective liquid cooling deployments in data centers that were not initially configured for such systems. This expansion addresses the increasing demand for high-density computing, particularly in artificial intelligence (AI) environments, while still accommodating traditional air-cooled racks.
The Vertiv CoolPhase CDU is a liquid-to-refrigerant coolant distribution unit that supports direct-to-chip liquid cooling, utilizing refrigerant-based heat rejection. This innovative approach eliminates the necessity for a facility chilled water system, simplifying installation and operational requirements. Meanwhile, the Vertiv CoolChip Fluid Network acts as an in-rack manifold that efficiently routes fluid from the coolant distribution unit to the server. Its design allows for easy installation and customization, making it suitable for various direct-to-chip liquid cooling applications.
These new solutions aim to provide flexibility for data centers and colocation providers, enabling rapid and modular growth to meet the rising demands of AI deployments. Additionally, Vertiv offers a comprehensive suite of global service offerings to support the deployment and maintenance of liquid-cooled infrastructure, ensuring that customers can optimize their operations as they transition to advanced cooling technologies.
