Southwest Airlines (NYSE:LUV) is set to reduce its service to Atlanta in 2025 and will cut more than 300 pilot and flight attendant positions as part of its cost-saving strategy. This announcement comes just before Southwest’s latest corporate update, which coincides with pressure from activist group Elliott Management.

The airline plans to eliminate 200 flight attendant roles and as many as 140 pilot positions beginning in April 2025. These reductions will affect flights to and from Atlanta, with some impacted staff expected to be reassigned to other cities as part of the workforce realignment.
