Highlights

  • Collaborative Innovation: Nona Biosciences partners with Kodiak Sciences to develop novel multi-target antibodies targeting ophthalmic diseases.
  • Cutting-Edge Platform: The collaboration utilizes Nona’s Harbour Mice® technology, offering fully human monoclonal and heavy chain-only antibodies.
  • Transformative Potential: The Harbour Mice® HCAb platform accelerates next-generation antibody therapies with smaller, more efficient molecules.

Nona Biosciences, a global leader in biotechnology and antibody discovery, has entered into a strategic collaboration with Kodiak Sciences Inc. (Nasdaq:KOD). This partnership aims to harness Nona’s proprietary Harbour Mice® platform to develop innovative multi-target antibodies designed to treat ophthalmic diseases, a leading cause of vision loss worldwide.

Revolutionizing Antibody Development

Nona Biosciences’ Harbour Mice® platform is a state-of-the-art technology for generating fully human monoclonal antibodies. It offers two formats: the H2L2 format, consisting of two heavy and two light chains, and the HCAb format, which produces heavy chain-only antibodies.

The HCAb format is particularly transformative, creating antibodies that are approximately half the size of conventional immunoglobulins. These smaller molecules bring significant advantages, including improved therapeutic efficiency, enhanced tissue penetration, and reduced complexity in development. The platform eliminates the need for additional engineering or humanization, streamlining the process of antibody discovery.

Under the agreement, Kodiak Sciences will leverage both H2L2 and HCAb Harbour Mice® technologies for various programs focused on therapeutic antibody discovery and development. This collaboration aligns with Kodiak’s commitment to delivering next-generation retinal medicines.
