Institutional Adjustments in Holdings
Money Concepts Capital Corp expanded its position in American Express by over 100% in the fourth quarter, according to a regulatory filing. The firm added more than 1,200 shares during this period, bringing its total holdings to over 2,400 shares. By the end of the reporting period, its stake in American Express was valued at approximately $732,000.
Other institutional firms also modified their holdings. Geode Capital Management LLC expanded its stake in American Express, adding over 86,000 shares in the third quarter. By the end of that quarter, Geode Capital held over 11 million shares in the payment services company.
Expanding Presence Among Asset Managers
FMR LLC, another major asset management firm, increased its holdings in American Express by more than 8% during the third quarter. The firm acquired over 866,000 additional shares, bringing its total position to over 11 million shares.
Similarly, UBS Asset Management Americas LLC expanded its stake by over 5%, adding more than 239,000 shares to its portfolio. The firm’s total holdings in American Express now exceed 4.6 million shares.
Janus Henderson Group PLC also adjusted its position, increasing its stake by nearly 1%. The firm added over 33,000 shares during the third quarter, raising its total holdings to nearly 4 million shares.
Broader Market Activity and Institutional Ownership
Nordea Investment Management AB made one of the largest increases among asset managers. The firm grew its position in American Express by over 12% during the fourth quarter, acquiring an additional 247,000 shares. By the end of the period, Nordea’s total holdings reached over 2.2 million shares, valued at more than $655 million.
Institutional firms collectively own over 84% of American Express, highlighting its significance within the financial services industry. The payment solutions provider remains a focal point for asset managers, with continued adjustments in holdings reflecting ongoing interest in the sector.
