Dragonfly Energy Holdings Corp. (NASDAQ:DFLI), an industry leader in energy storage and maker of Battle Born Batteries®, announced today that Nevada Tech Hub, a program designed to strengthen Nevada’s lithium battery supply chain, has selected the Company for funding in its first round of awards. The contract is currently being finalized.
Nevada Tech Hub is one of 31 federally designated Tech Hubs nationwide, recognized for their role in advancing key technology sectors. Its mission is to develop Nevada’s lithium battery and critical materials ecosystem through funding, collaboration, and workforce initiatives. With support from state resources, Nevada Tech Hub awarded Dragonfly Energy for its contributions to building lithium battery manufacturing capacity and enhancing workforce development.
“This award is more than just an investment in Dragonfly Energy, it is an investment in Nevada’s future,” said Dr. Denis Phares, chief executive officer of Dragonfly Energy. “As a homegrown Nevada company, we are proud to contribute to the state’s vision of becoming the nation’s center for lithium battery innovation. By modernizing our operations and expanding our skilled workforce, we believe we can both drive efficiencies that benefit our shareholders, customers, and employees by creating long-term economic growth and high-value jobs across the state. This non-dilutive capital is highly beneficial to our growth strategy.”
The award, expected to total approximately USD 300,000, will be directed toward high-impact modernization and workforce initiatives. Planned projects include progress toward ISO 9001 certification, upgrading production systems, and modernizing the Company’s battery manufacturing lines. These upgrades are anticipated to generate significant operational savings, which can be reinvested into workforce training and local development programs.
Dragonfly Energy has outlined partnerships with Truckee Meadows Community College and the University of Nevada, Reno, to provide training and education in machining, automation, and maintenance. The initiative also includes recruitment and upskilling of production floor personnel, broadening career opportunities in clean energy technology.
With nearly 400,000 square feet of manufacturing space in South Reno, Dragonfly Energy operates as a key anchor for high-value energy storage jobs in Nevada. The modernization project and workforce expansion are expected to reinforce the Company’s role in supporting the region’s clean energy sector, aligning with both state and national priorities for domestic energy supply chain resilience.
