Overview
Baselode Energy Corp {OTC:BSENF} has announced encouraging results from its 2024 drilling program at the ACKIO uranium prospect, located in Saskatchewan's Athabasca Basin. The company reported assay results from three out of 43 drill holes, with two holes—AK24-118 and AK24-119—showing notable uranium mineralization.
Drill hole AK24-119 returned an impressive 0.28% U₃O₈ (uranium) over a length of 21 meters, including a high-grade segment of 1.55% U₃O₈ over 1.5 meters. Meanwhile, drill hole AK24-118 yielded 0.59% U₃O₈ over 8.5 meters. These results enhance the mineralization profile of Pod 6 at the ACKIO prospect and highlight the shallow depth of its uranium deposits, setting it apart from deeper deposits found elsewhere in the Athabasca Basin.
James Sykes, CEO of Baselode Energy, emphasized the significance of the shallow mineralization at ACKIO compared to its peers. He expressed encouragement over the results from drill holes AK24-118 and AK24-119, noting that they represent the best intersections in Pod 6 and rank among the top 20 drill holes at ACKIO. Sykes remarked on the company's ongoing success, stating that just over three years after the discovery of ACKIO, the results continue to exceed expectations in terms of both grades and widths.
Assay results from an additional 40 drill holes from the ACKIO and Hook drill programs are currently pending, which may provide further insights into the mineralization potential of these prospects. The promising assay results have generated positive market response, with shares of Baselode Energy increasing significantly in early trading.
