Highlights
- E-band radios featuring auto-alignment and E-stabilizer extend range and simplify 5G backhaul.
- Tier-1 operators and a leading ISP report higher capacity with lower deployment costs.
- Proof-of-concept deployments validate Ceragon’s technology for high-capacity, low-latency networks.
Ceragon (NASDAQ:CRNT) has successfully completed three proof-of-concept deployments of its E-band technology with Tier-1 operators and a major ISP across North America and Europe. These trials demonstrated Ceragon’s ability to boost network capacity, extend coverage, accelerate rollout timelines, and reduce overall ownership costs. The deployments utilized Ceragon’s advanced E-band radios integrated with auto-alignment and stabilization capabilities.
The results showed that network capacities surpassed traditional microwave solutions, with longer link distances, higher reliability, easier installations, and clear cost advantages compared with fiber backhaul and licensed microwave systems.
Recent Use Cases
- Tier-1 European operator: Deployed IP-50E mmWave radios equipped with an auto-aligner kit to manage temporary network congestion during a music festival. The “cell tower in a box” setup delivered up to 10 Gbps capacity—five times more than required.
- Tier-1 U.S. operator: Expanded rural 5G coverage using IP-20A and IP-50E radios combined with an antenna auto-aligner kit. This multiband configuration achieved 10 Gbps backhaul, resolved alignment challenges on sway-prone monopoles, ensured near-zero downtime, and offered significant cost savings over fiber.
- Large U.S. ISP: Utilized IP-50EXP radios with three-foot antennas and an E-stabilizer for greenfield network builds and capacity upgrades. The project set new E-band link distance records beyond five kilometers and achieved up to four times the capacity of standard 4+0 microwave systems.
Management Commentary
Doron Arazi, CEO of Ceragon, stated:
“These successful trials showcase how our breakthrough solutions empower operators to quickly deploy high-capacity, low-latency connectivity with cost structures that were once unattainable. This technology enables our customers to deliver superior user experiences, generate new revenue opportunities, and strengthen their competitive position.”
Future Outlook
The successful trials highlight the commercial potential of Ceragon’s E-band portfolio. Adoption by Tier-1 operators and ISPs underscores the company’s capability to enable network modernization and support high-capacity deployments across multiple markets.
