Academy Geopolitical Intelligence Group Marks 10 Years of Insight on Geostrategic Risk
The Academy Geopolitical Intelligence Group celebrated a major milestone on November 6, 2024, ringing the New York Stock Exchange Opening Bell to commemorate 10 years of advising Wall Street on geostrategic risks. This distinguished group, which includes 30 Admirals, Generals, and two former NASA Astronauts, has provided unparalleled guidance to financial institutions navigating global instability.
Alongside the group, Academy Asset Management, a veteran-owned SEC-registered investment advisory firm, celebrated the achievement, underlining its ongoing commitment to veterans and enhancing financial market stability. Admiral Collin Green, a prominent member of the Geopolitical Intelligence Group, rang the bell, while Academy’s Founder and CEO, Chance Mims, addressed the attendees.
Since its establishment, the Academy Geopolitical Intelligence Group has played a pivotal role in helping financial institutions assess complex global risks. Their expertise covers a broad spectrum, from geopolitical conflicts to technological innovations, enabling better decision-making in an unpredictable world. The insights shared by the group have supported investors in understanding the implications of global events on stability and market trends.
As part of this celebration, Academy Asset Management also launched the Academy Veteran Impact ETF (VETZ) on the NYSE Arca exchange. This ETF is the first of its kind to focus on investments that benefit U.S. service members, veterans, their families, and veteran-owned businesses. The ETF allocates a significant portion of its assets to loans specifically targeted at veterans, helping reduce borrowing costs for them and their families. Furthermore, a portion of the management fee will be directed to military-related charities, including the Bob Woodruff Foundation.
After the Opening Bell, Academy hosted a Global Geostrategic Risk Update session, where experts from the Academy Geopolitical Intelligence Group, including Peter Tchir, Academy’s Head of Macro Strategy, discussed emerging global developments and their potential market impact.
Phil McConkey, President of Academy Securities, expressed pride in sharing the Geopolitical Intelligence Group’s expertise with clients and partners, emphasizing the importance of understanding the complex geopolitical forces shaping global financial environments while also providing critical support to veterans.
