Stocks saw modest gains on recent data that indicated continued growth in the US economy's services and manufacturing sectors. These developments suggest that the economy remains on track for solid performance in the third quarter of the year, boosting market sentiment.

Nasdaq and S&P 500 Edge Higher

The Nasdaq Composite Index rose by 0.3%, reaching 17,997 points, while the S&P 500 also increased by 0.3%, standing at 5,712 points. The Dow Jones Industrial Average edged slightly higher, gaining 0.1% to reach 42,114 points. The overall market movement reflects investor optimism driven by positive economic indicators and corporate developments.

Tesla Rises on Bullish Delivery Forecast

Tesla Inc. (NASDAQ: TSLA), a leader in the electric vehicle sector, saw its shares climb by almost 5%. This surge follows an updated forecast from Barclays projecting Tesla’s third-quarter vehicle deliveries to reach 470,000. The anticipated figure represents an 8% increase compared to the same quarter last year, and it surpasses Wall Street’s consensus estimate of 461,000 vehicles. Tesla’s performance is closely watched, as delivery numbers often provide insight into demand and production capabilities for electric vehicles.

Intel Gains on Investment Offer

Intel Corp. (NASDAQ: INTC), a prominent player in the semiconductor industry, added 1.9% following reports of a multibillion-dollar investment offer from Apollo Global Management (NYSE:APO). This development offers Intel an alternative route, amid ongoing speculation surrounding a potential acquisition by its larger rival, Qualcomm Inc. (NASDAQ:QCOM). The investment could influence Intel’s strategic direction as it continues to navigate the competitive semiconductor landscape.

Meta Platforms Sees Boost from Advertising Outlook

Shares of Meta Platforms Inc. (NASDAQ:META) rose by 1%. Citi analysts forecast improved profits and revenue for the social media giant, driven by increased advertising on its Reels feature. The company's ability to enhance ad monetization through its short-form video platform is seen as a key factor in boosting financial performance.

US stocks exhibited moderate gains, bolstered by favorable economic data and corporate developments. Tesla’s projected delivery figures, Intel’s investment offer, and Meta’s advertising momentum are key factors that contributed to the positive market movement.
