OpenAI continues to be in the spotlight on Thursday after Elon Musk said he has received a letter allegedly from the former OpenAI employees that pans Sam Altman.
Former OpenAI staff blasts Altman for misconduct
The said letter from a group of aggrieved former workers accuses Altman and Greg Brockman – the President of OpenAI of a “disturbing pattern of deceit and manipulation”.
It also grills the two executives for intimidating employees into keeping silent against their misconduct and effectively suffocating discussion on the “ethical implications of OpenAI’s work”.
The letter surfaced only hours before OpenAI reinstated Sam Altman as its Chief Executive on Wednesday.
You can read the note in full here. It is not, however, certain – at least so far that the correspondence indeed is legit.
Sam Altman has agreed to an internal investigation
The former staff related attrition rate of a whopping 50% at OpenAI between 2018 to 2022 also to the said “environment of fear” in their letter to billionaire Elon Musk.
They urged the Board of Directors as well to “launch an independent investigation” into unethical practices and repeated misconduct of Sam Altman and Greg Brockman.
Note that Sam Altman has already agreed to an internal investigation as he took over the helm again at OpenAI on Wednesday following immense pressure from the company’s existing workforce and investors, including Microsoft Corp.
