Petards, the AIM-quoted developer specializing in advanced security, communication, and surveillance systems, has announced a significant new development. Its subsidiary, Petards Joyce-Loebl (PJL), has secured orders exceeding £0.5 million to provide Petards eyeTrain systems to a major UK train manufacturer. This contract will see the delivery of Petards eyeTrain forward-facing and track debris camera systems, designed to enhance the video and data collection capabilities of additional trains within an existing fleet.

This latest order is part of a substantial upgrade program undertaken by one of the UK's leading rolling stock owners, reflecting a commitment to modernizing and improving operational efficiencies. The initial equipment supply is slated to begin in late 2024, with the bulk of the deliveries expected to be completed in the first half of 2025.

Raschid Abdullah, Chairman of Petards Group plc, expressed enthusiasm about the new contract. “We are delighted to be awarded this contract and that Petards Rail's well-proven advanced digital technology products have again been selected to enhance the operational capabilities of a longstanding customer's UK fleet,” Abdullah stated.

The company is also gearing up for a significant industry event. Petards will exhibit at Innotrans, the International Trade Fair for Transport Technology, in September. This event will serve as an opportunity for Petards to showcase both its established and forthcoming products to existing and potential customers. The exhibition aligns with Petards’ strategy to demonstrate their innovative solutions and reinforce their position in the rail technology sector.

Overall, this new contract and upcoming exhibition underscore Petards' continued commitment to advancing rail technology and enhancing the safety and efficiency of train operations.
