Netcall PLC (LSE:NET), headquartered in Bedford, England, has acquired the digital process automation company Govtech Holdings Ltd. The initial consideration for the acquisition is GBP 9.6 million, which includes GBP 1.5 million in cash retained by Govtech. Additionally, there is an earnout component, potentially increasing the total value of the acquisition to GBP 13.0 million.

Impact on Market Position

The acquisition of Govtech Holdings Ltd is anticipated to have a direct impact on Netcall PLC's financial performance. According to Netcall, this acquisition is expected to enhance earnings immediately. It also expands Netcall's presence in the local government sector, increasing its market share among UK councils from 26% to 34%. This move is seen as a strategic enhancement of Netcall’s position within the local government market.

Expansion of Customer Base and Functional Reach

The acquisition is expected to provide Netcall PLC with access to new areas within local government operations, particularly in the councils' revenues and benefits functions. This complements Netcall's existing software applications, which are already focused on housing and social care processes for local authorities. As a result, Netcall will be able to offer a more comprehensive suite of solutions to its local government clients.

Netcall PLC’s Core Operations

Netcall PLC specializes in intelligent automation and customer engagement software. The company’s activities include the design, development, sale, and support of software products and services. The Liberty software platform, a key offering from Netcall, is designed to assist organizations with digital transformation through its automation and customer engagement capabilities.
