Kooth (LSE:KOO), a global leader in youth digital mental health and well-being, has announced a significant new contract with the State of New Jersey. The $1.45 million pilot contract will bring Kooth’s mental health services to approximately 50,000 students aged 13 to 18 in New Jersey school districts.

Details of the Pilot Contract

Kooth will deploy its Soluna platform as part of the pilot program, offering comprehensive mental health support. The program, set to launch in mid-January 2025, will run for an initial one-year period. Leveraging its established US infrastructure, Kooth will combine in-state marketing expertise with licensed practitioners to deliver services, ensuring seamless implementation.

Students participating in the program will have access to a range of features, including:

  • Self-guided tools and resources: Activities and content designed to promote well-being.
  • Peer support communities: Pre-moderated by trained behavioral health professionals.
  • Confidential counselling and coaching: Available seven days a week from 2:00 PM to 9:00 PM, offering flexibility for after-school and weekend access.

Kooth’s Growing US Footprint

This contract marks another milestone in Kooth's US expansion strategy. The company already has a notable presence through a state-level contract with California and a private-sector partnership with Aetna Better Health in Illinois. These initiatives underscore Kooth’s commitment to addressing the growing demand for youth mental health solutions across the US.

Kooth’s innovative Soluna platform has been instrumental in delivering accessible, user-friendly mental health resources tailored to young people’s needs. By integrating local expertise and infrastructure, Kooth aims to ensure that its services are both culturally relevant and effective.

Looking Ahead

The New Jersey pilot contract adds momentum to Kooth’s US growth, with discussions ongoing regarding a second pilot contract. The company has indicated that these talks are expected to conclude in Q1, further solidifying its position as a leader in digital mental health solutions for young people.
