The framework agreement runs to March 2028, with an option to extend to March 2030.
Journeo plc (AIM:JNEO), a provider of information systems and technical services for transport operators and local authorities, has announced a variation to its existing £10 million framework agreement with First Bus UK. The agreement, originally disclosed in May 2025, runs for three years through March 2028 and has now been expanded to cover the recently acquired bus fleet of First Bus London.
The variation is expected to generate additional revenues of £3.5 million, with an option to extend the framework agreement for a further two years, through March 2030. The new agreement underlines Journeo’s role in supplying and supporting advanced technologies across a large-scale urban bus operation.
First Group announced in February 2025 its acquisition of RATP Dev Transit London, which has since been rebranded as First Bus London. Prior to this acquisition, RATP Dev Transit London held a market share of approximately 12% of London’s bus operations, running a fleet of around 1,000 buses under 90 Transport for London (TfL) route contracts. The integration of this business into First Group has expanded the operator’s presence in the capital’s public transport network, creating new opportunities for partners such as Journeo.
Under the Variation Agreement, Journeo will deliver its 5G vehicle gateway technology, which enables secure connections to the Journeo Portal, the company’s software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform. The platform provides operators with real-time access to critical video data, facilitating rapid response and investigation in the event of incidents.
The agreement also includes the supply and installation of digital CCTV systems across the First Bus London fleet. Journeo’s digital wing mirror technology will also be fitted to new vehicles joining the fleet, enhancing operational safety. In addition, Journeo will deliver ongoing field service maintenance, supported by remote condition monitoring via its Journeo EDGE solution. This capability enables proactive servicing, minimising vehicle downtime and supporting fleet reliability across London operations.
The extension of the agreement aligns with Journeo’s broader strategy of embedding advanced connectivity, safety, and monitoring solutions into large-scale transport networks. With the addition of First Bus London’s fleet, Journeo’s technologies are expected to support both enhanced passenger safety and operator efficiency across one of the UK’s most significant bus networks.
The company anticipates further value creation through the adoption of its technologies as First Group integrates its London operations in the coming years.
