Hon Hai, also known as Foxconn, a major manufacturing partner for Apple Inc (LSE:0R2V), experienced a significant revenue increase of 33% year-on-year in August. The company’s unaudited sales reached 548 billion new Taiwanese dollars, which translates to approximately $17 billion.

By the end of August, the accumulated revenue for the current year surpassed $124 billion, marking a 9.5% increase from the previous year.

Key Role in iPhone Production

Hon Hai is integral to the assembly of iPhones, handling many of the components that make up Apple’s flagship devices. Major factories in Shenzhen and Zhengzhou, often dubbed ‘iPhone City,’ are pivotal in the global distribution of iPhones, contributing a large share of the assembly process.

Impact of Reviving Smartphone Market

The surge in Hon Hai's revenue aligns with a rebound in global smartphone demand, which had been sluggish for an extended period. This upswing is a positive development for the company as it gears up to meet the needs of an expanding market.

Upcoming Apple and Huawei Releases

Apple is anticipated to unveil its next-generation iPhones next Monday, which will feature new ChatGPT-powered Siri and other advanced artificial intelligence capabilities. Concurrently, Huawei is expected to launch its own new device, aiming to compete directly with Apple's latest offerings.
