Brave Bison (LSE:BBSN) has announced the acquisition of sports marketing specialist Engage Digital Partners, a move that will significantly enhance its sports and entertainment division. Strategic Acquisition to Strengthen Sports Media Presence
Engage Digital Partners, known for its expertise in sports media and digital content strategy, brings an impressive client portfolio, including Formula 1, the International Cricket Council (ICC), and Real Madrid. Brave Bison chair Oliver Green highlighted the strategic benefits of the acquisition, noting, “This combination comes at a time when rights holders and sports federations are looking to maximize their IP, boost fan engagement, and drive commercial performance using a more data-driven approach.”

The integration will expand Brave Bison’s reach across multiple sports, including football, cricket, motorsports, tennis, golf, e-sports, and rugby, aligning with its long-term growth strategy.

Deal Structure and Financial Considerations
The acquisition comprises an initial enterprise value of £2.1 million, equity consideration of £2 million, and performance-based payments of up to £6.5 million. The transaction will be funded through Brave Bison’s existing cash reserves and is expected to be finalized early next year.

Pro-Forma Turnover and Financial Performance
With Engage Digital Partners onboard, Brave Bison’s sports and entertainment division is projected to generate £16 million in pro-forma turnover. The company also reported that trading in the latter half of 2024 has met expectations, keeping it on track to achieve adjusted pre-tax earnings of £3.6 million for the year.

Opportunities in Data-Driven Fan Engagement
The acquisition underscores Brave Bison’s commitment to leveraging data-driven strategies to enhance fan engagement and commercial performance. As the sports industry increasingly turns to digital solutions, the partnership with Engage Digital Partners positions Brave Bison as a leader in delivering innovative and impactful sports media campaigns.

Market Reaction and Future Prospects
Following the announcement, Brave Bison shares climbed 2% to 2.22p on Monday, reflecting market optimism about the acquisition’s potential impact. With the deal set to close early next year, Brave Bison is poised to strengthen its position in the digital advertising landscape while capitalizing on the growing demand for sports media solutions.
