  • New evidence centres on forgery and deliberate falsification of documents by Sara Murray.

  • The Company has offered mediation as an alternative to prolonged litigation in the Buddi case.

Big Technologies plc (AIM:BIG), a UK-based provider of electronic monitoring solutions, has announced new developments in its ongoing High Court proceedings against Sara Murray and associated parties. The Company confirmed it is seeking to expand its claims in light of fresh evidence relating to forgery and falsification of documents.

The proceedings, referred to as the “SM Proceedings,” follow previous disclosures regarding Murray’s conduct and her interests in several companies linked to Big Technologies’ past operations and the Buddi Litigation.

Forgery and Falsification Allegations

The Company disclosed that new information shows significant documents were either forged or deliberately falsified by Sara Murray. These revelations, described as “New Developments,” have prompted Big Technologies to submit draft re-amended particulars of claim to the defendants, strengthening its case against Murray and others.

The new claims build on earlier findings that Murray:

  • Failed to disclose her interests in companies including Zinc Limited, Monitoring Partners Limited, RCP Limited, and Romelle Limited at the time of the Company’s IPO.

  • Provided untrue information to Big Technologies, its legal representatives, and the Court in sworn statements.

  • Improperly diverted or extracted over £19 million from the Company and its subsidiaries to herself or related entities.

  • Along with other defendants, provided undertakings equivalent to freezing injunctions.

Implications for the Buddi Litigation

Big Technologies confirmed that these new findings have material adverse implications for its position in the ongoing Buddi Litigation, where the Company and Buddi Limited are facing related claims.

The Group stated it remains committed to recovering from Murray and associated parties any liabilities of the Company or its subsidiaries that may arise from the Buddi Litigation.

Claims Expansion and Recovery Efforts

The expanded claims include new allegations directed at Sara Murray and the trustee of the Murray Trust. Big Technologies is seeking to recover any liabilities linked to the Buddi Litigation as well as sums improperly diverted from the Group.

The Company emphasised that these claims are being advanced to safeguard its financial position and address the impact of Murray’s alleged actions on its operations.

Mediation Proposal

Despite the seriousness of the allegations, Big Technologies confirmed it has offered mediation as an alternative to what would otherwise be protracted and costly litigation. The Company expressed willingness to pursue negotiation or other consensual means to resolve its claims against Murray and reach a settlement in the Buddi Litigation, provided terms are acceptable.

Advisers for the parties are expected to engage in discussions on potential mediation in the coming days.
