Adriatic Metals PLC (LSE:ADT1) has announced the permanent appointment of Laura Tyler as chief executive and managing director. This decision follows a unanimous agreement by the board, marking a significant step for the precious and base metals developer. Tyler initially joined the company as a non-executive director in July before stepping into the role of interim chief executive the following month.

Chairman Michael Rawlinson expressed his satisfaction with the appointment, stating, “The board has undertaken an extensive search for Adriatico's next leader and is pleased to announce her appointment as the board's unanimous choice.” He highlighted Tyler’s considerable experience, which spans 35 years in the mining industry, including her two-decade tenure at BHP Ltd. During her time at BHP, she held various senior roles, such as chief technical officer, chief geoscientist, and chief of staff to the company's chief executive, showcasing her extensive expertise in the field.

In her new role, Tyler has expressed enthusiasm about the extraordinary potential of the Vares Silver Operation located in Bosnia & Herzegovina. Having spent the past two months working directly on-site, she has gained valuable insights into the operation's capabilities and growth opportunities. Tyler stated, “I am excited to take on the role of chief executive in a permanent capacity and take Adriatic onto its next phase of growth.”
