Anglo Asian Mining PLC {LSE:AAZ} has announced the successful resumption of agitation leaching operations at its Gedabek mine in Azerbaijan, following a twelve-month halt. This restart is a significant milestone for the company, as it comes after receiving authorization to raise the wall of the mine’s tailing dam on August 5, 2024. The commissioning of the agitation leaching plant commenced soon after this approval.
The commissioning phase has concluded, enabling the agitation leaching plant to return to normal production. During this period, which lasted until September 30, 2024, the plant successfully produced 523 ounces of gold doré.
Looking ahead, Anglo Asian Mining remains on track to restart flotation processing in November, with initial production from the new Gilar mine anticipated in December. The suspension of agitation and flotation operations at Gedabek was necessary to secure the required approvals for increasing the tailings capacity, ensuring safe and efficient operations moving forward.
This development reflects the company's commitment to enhancing its production capabilities and operational efficiency in the evolving mining landscape of Azerbaijan.
