The British Land Company plc (LSE:BLND) has announced the appointment of David Walker as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO), effective from 20 November 2024. Walker, who is currently the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the company, will succeed Bhavesh Mistry, who will step down from the Board and his role as CFO on the same day.
David Walker’s Background and Experience
David Walker brings a wealth of experience and a deep understanding of British Land, having joined the company in 2017. Over the years, he has held several significant positions within the organization, including Head of Investor Relations and Interim CFO from November 2020 to July 2021. His tenure as COO, a role he has held since 2021, further positions him as a capable and well-rounded leader within the company.
Walker’s career began at PwC, where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant. He then spent over seven years in the Corporate Finance division at Deutsche Bank, gaining extensive experience in corporate finance. Following this, he worked for more than a decade in various strategic, financial, and investor relations roles within UK-listed companies. He has also been an influential figure in the investor relations sector, having chaired the UK Investor Relations Society until 2023, following over a decade of service on its board.
