Scancell Holdings PLC (LSE:SCLP) has entered into a strategic partnership with PharmaJet to provide the Stratis intramuscular (IM) needle-free injection system. This system will be utilized for administering Scancell’s SCIB1/iSCIB1+ DNA cancer vaccine to patients with advanced or metastatic melanoma.
The Stratis system has demonstrated effective delivery of the SCIB1/iSCIB1+ DNA vaccine in clinical trials. To date, 60 patients across 15 clinical sites have received a total of 171 doses of the vaccine using the Stratis system. The device has received clearance from the US FDA, CE marking, and WHO prequalification, underscoring its safety and efficacy.
The needle-free injection system is designed to offer a convenient and effective treatment method for patients. Prof. Lindy Durrant, Chief Executive of Scancell, emphasized the significance of securing a long-term supply of the PharmaJet Stratis system for the development of SCIB1/iSCIB1+. Durrant noted the effectiveness of PharmaJet’s system in delivering the therapeutic cancer vaccine and its positive reception among patients.
