Dr. Bono has published over 100 peer-reviewed papers, with his research focusing on molecular and immunological oncology, making him an excellent fit for Faron (LSE:FARN)'s immuno-oncology programs.
Dr. Bono expressed enthusiasm for his new role, stating, "I am eager to further develop Faron's novel and innovative immunotherapy program, and to make bexmarilimab a cornerstone of future cancer care." He emphasized the potential of bexmarilimab, describing it as an exceptional asset with wide applicability in treating various cancers. "Bexmarilimab is an industry-leading agent in macrophage reprogramming and has shown it can induce responses and overcome treatment resistance in tumors," he added.
Faron's Chief Executive, Dr. Markku Jalkanen, commented on the appointment, "We are delighted to have such an experienced and proactive oncologist join us as the new CMO. This strengthens our upcoming expansion plans into solid tumors, as we benefit from Dr. Bono's expertise and broader strategic capabilities in both solid tumors and hematological malignancies."

The addition of Dr. Bono to Faron's leadership team marks a significant step in the company's mission to advance its immuno-oncology programs. With his extensive background in oncology and immunology, Dr. Bono is poised to drive the development of innovative therapies and expand Faron's presence in the oncology sector.
