Greatland Gold plc (LON:GGP) has made significant strides in the Havieron project during the June 2024 quarter. The Environmental Protection Authority of Western Australia (EPA) has formally decided to assess the project's approval. The EPA has requested additional information, which is currently being prepared for submission by the joint venture manager.

Development progress at Havieron has reached over 3,060 metres, with more than 2,110 metres of advancement in the main access decline as of June 30, 2024. Approximately 80 vertical metres remain before reaching the base of the Permian cover and the top of the Havieron orebody at around 420 vertical metres. Thus, over 80% of the vertical distance to the orebody has been completed.

FY2025 Exploration Program

Looking ahead to FY2025, Greatland Gold has outlined an ambitious exploration program designed to build on the progress made in FY2024. The program will encompass a range of activities including drilling, surface sampling, and geophysics.

Key Highlights of Recent Work and Planned FY2025 Program

  • Paterson Region:
    • Surface sampling programs are ongoing with over 1,000 samples collected in CY24. Assays are pending, and further sampling is planned for later in the year.
    • The Paterson South ground gravity program has been completed on the Atlantis prospect at Budjidowns, with results currently being processed.
  • Scallywag Project:
    • The FY2025 program will include additional surface sampling and a drilling campaign to test the London prospect.
  • Ernest Giles Project:
    • The project has been bolstered by the addition of two new exploration licences in July 2024, E38/3277 (Westwood West) and E38/3235 (Westwood North), extending the total strike length under Greatland’s 100% owned tenure to 125 km.
    • The FY2025 exploration plan includes project-wide and targeted geophysics surveys, as well as 6,000 metres of drilling at the Meadows project.
  • Heritage Surveys:
    • Heritage surveys have been completed on key targets in both the Paterson region and Ernest Giles, paving the way for planned drilling activities in FY2025.
  • New Tenement Applications:
    • New tenement applications at Mt Egerton and Yannarie have been submitted, potentially enhancing the prospectivity of these projects.
