Artemis Resources Ltd (LSE:ARV) has received approval to commence drilling at its Lulu Creek prospect in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. The drilling program will focus on an Intrusive Related Gold System (IRGS) and is expected to begin in the coming days, following heritage and ethnographic surveys conducted in collaboration with the Ngarluma Aboriginal Corporation.
The upcoming drill campaign will target areas identified through prior exploration and geophysical surveys. Previous shallow reverse circulation (RC) drilling in 2020 revealed multiple gold zones across a 1.5-kilometre stretch, with notable intercepts including 1 metre at 4.89 g/t gold and 13.7 g/t silver. These gold zones are linked to quartz veins and sulphide dissemination within a quartz diorite intrusion. A 2023 dipole-dipole Induced Polarisation (IP) survey also uncovered two chargeability anomalies that align with these gold zones, providing promising drill targets for Artemis.
The drilling program has been co-funded by the Western Australian Government's Exploration Incentive Scheme (EIS), administered by the Department of Energy, Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety (DEMIRS). The Lulu Creek prospect, located 20 kilometres west of Artemis's Carlow Castle deposit, was first identified in 2018 through regional soil and rock chip surveys, and extensive geological mapping and sampling have followed.
Executive director George Ventouras expressed enthusiasm about the upcoming drill program, acknowledging the support of the Ngarluma Aboriginal Corporation. He emphasized the company's commitment to advancing exploration at Lulu Creek and shared plans to keep the market updated on progress.
Artemis Resources is a diversified exploration company focusing on gold, copper, and lithium in Western Australia. In addition to the Lulu Creek project, the company’s key assets include the Carlow Castle gold-copper-cobalt project, the Karratha Lithium Project, and the Paterson Central Gold-Copper Project. Artemis also owns the Radio Hill processing plant, located 35 kilometres from Karratha, which serves as a processing hub for its operations in the West Pilbara.
