Highlights:
- Successful Preliminary Site Visit: Georgina Energy completed a thorough site survey at the Hussar project, achieving all objectives.
- Infrastructure in Good Condition: Assessments confirmed access roads, airstrip, and water facilities remain serviceable despite recent rains.
- Regulatory Submission Underway: Findings and updated seismic data to be submitted for drilling approval within 10 days.
Georgina Energy PLC (LSE:GEX) has made significant progress in advancing its Hussar project in Western Australia, announcing the successful completion of a preliminary site survey. This development marks a pivotal step toward the company's upcoming drilling program, reinforcing its commitment to developing low-risk helium, hydrogen, and natural gas projects in Australia.
Comprehensive Site Survey Completed
The site inspection included extensive evaluations of the Hussar well location (EP513), covering critical areas such as heritage monitoring, flora and fauna assessments, and infrastructure condition checks. These assessments were undertaken in collaboration with Low Ecological Services and Traditional Owners, ensuring compliance with environmental and cultural standards.
Key findings revealed that the project’s infrastructure is in good condition despite recent heavy rainfall. Access roads and an airstrip were confirmed as operational, while the existing water well was deemed serviceable. Additionally, supplementary potable water sources were identified at the nearby Madley 1 well site, ensuring adequate resources for the planned drilling operations.
Environmental and Regulatory Readiness
The environmental inspections are part of Georgina Energy’s comprehensive Environmental Impact Study. The results of the survey, along with revised seismic mapping data, will be submitted to the Department of Energy, Mines, and Industry Regulation and Safety (DEMIRS) within 10 days. This regulatory submission is a key step toward securing approval for re-entering the Hussar well site.
Chief Executive Anthony Hamilton expressed satisfaction with the progress, stating: "Our preliminary site visit to EP513 was highly successful, with all of our objectives achieved and multiple successful results. Georgina continues on its path focused on re-entering Hussar and bringing Mt Winter to pre-drill as part of our program to develop low-risk helium, hydrogen, and natural gas projects in Australia."
Strategic Vision for Sustainable Energy
The Hussar project is central to Georgina Energy’s broader strategy to capitalize on Australia's rich energy resources. With helium and hydrogen gaining prominence as critical components in the global energy transition, Georgina’s efforts to position itself as a leader in this space are underscored by its meticulous approach to project development.
This milestone demonstrates Georgina Energy’s ability to navigate complex environmental, technical, and regulatory landscapes while staying on track with its operational timeline. The upcoming submission to regulators will pave the way for drilling approvals, bringing the Hussar project one step closer to realizing its potential.
