Topps Tiles Plc (LSE:TPT), the UK’s leading tile specialist, has announced the appointment of Martin Payne as an independent non-executive director and Audit Committee Chair Designate. He will officially join the Board of Directors on 1 October 2024.
Transition of Leadership
Martin Payne will succeed Keith Down as the Chair of the Audit Committee at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) in January 2025. Keith will retire from the Board following his term, in accordance with the UK Corporate Governance Code, after providing valuable service to the Group.
Martin Payne's Experience
Bringing over 35 years of experience in both executive and non-executive roles across private and public sectors, Martin is well-equipped to contribute to Topps Group. He is a qualified management accountant and has held significant positions, including CFO and CEO of Genuit Group plc, a FTSE250 building materials company, from which he retired in May 2022.
Prior to his tenure at Genuit Group, Martin served as CFO of Norcros plc, where he gained valuable insights into tile retailing and manufacturing in both the UK and South Africa.
Currently, he is a non-executive director at Stelrad Group plc, Europe's largest radiator manufacturer, where he chairs the Audit Committee. Additionally, he holds a non-executive director position at Churchill China plc, an AIM-listed international tableware manufacturer, where he is also the Audit Committee chair and Senior Independent Director (SID). Martin previously served as Chair of the Construction Products Association, representing UK building materials manufacturers.
