Mondi Group (MNDI) has announced an interim dividend of 23.33 euro cents per ordinary share for the year ending December 31, 2024. This dividend will be payable on September 27, 2024, to all Mondi plc ordinary shareholders recorded on either the UK main register or the South African branch register by August 23, 2024.

Currency and Payment Details

  • Dividend Payment: Mondi plc will pay the dividend in euro. However, shareholders in the United Kingdom will receive their dividend in sterling unless they have elected to receive it in euro. The deadline for making euro currency elections is September 9, 2024. The exchange rate for this currency conversion will be set on September 13, 2024.
  • South African Branch Register: Shareholders on the South African branch register will receive their dividend in South African rand (ZAR). The dividend will be converted at a rate of EUR 1 to ZAR 19.69500, resulting in an equivalent gross interim dividend of 459.48435 rand cents per ordinary share.

Tax Implications for South African Shareholders

For South African tax residents holding shares on the South African branch register, the interim dividend will be subject to South African dividends tax at a rate of 20%, unless an exemption applies. This will result in a net dividend of 367.58748 rand cents per ordinary share. Shareholders who are not tax residents in South Africa are exempt from South African dividends withholding tax.
