Dalata Hotel Group plc, (LSE:DAL) the largest hotel operator in Ireland, has announced the sale of Clayton Whites Hotel Wexford to Neville Hotels for €21 million. The hotel, a strong performer in Dalata’s portfolio, will transfer ownership to Neville Hotels, with Dalata facilitating a comprehensive process to ensure a smooth transition for employees and operations.

The sale of Clayton Whites Hotel is aligned with Dalata’s broader strategic objectives and follows the earlier announcement of the sale of Maldron Hotel Wexford. Dalata has confirmed that the net proceeds from these transactions will be used for its ongoing share buyback programme, which was initiated on 15 October 2024. The completion of the transaction is expected in January 2025.

Dalata’s CEO, Dermot Crowley, expressed appreciation for the hotel’s role in the company’s growth, thanking the team for their dedication and performance. He added that with a strong management team in place at Clayton Whites Hotel Wexford, the hotel would continue to perform well under Neville Hotels. Crowley also emphasized Dalata’s commitment to ensuring a positive transition for all employees during this period of change.

Dalata remains the dominant hotel operator in the Irish market, with plans for further growth in key locations across the UK and Continental Europe. The company operates under the Clayton and Maldron brands and continues to focus on delivering high-quality hospitality across its portfolio of 56 hotels.

As Dalata moves forward with its expansion strategy, the sale of Clayton Whites Hotel Wexford represents a strategic repositioning within its overall portfolio.
