Highlights

  • Audioboom upgrades adjusted EBITDA guidance for 2024 to at least $3.1 million, surpassing prior expectations of $2.8 million.
  • Showcase advertising marketplace delivers 53% year-on-year revenue growth in November 2024.
  • Revenue for 2024 expected to exceed $73 million, with enhanced profit margins driven by strategic focus on high-quality revenue streams.

Audioboom (LSE:BOOM), a global leader in podcasting, has announced exceptional results for the fourth quarter of 2024, driving an increase in its adjusted EBITDA guidance to at least $3.1 million, significantly above the recently upgraded forecast of $2.8 million. This robust performance reflects the company's continued focus on scalable, high-margin products and a growing advertiser base.

Showcase Fuels Revenue Growth

Central to Audioboom's success is its tech-driven advertising marketplace, Showcase, which achieved 53% revenue growth in November 2024 compared to the same period last year. Showcase’s scalable model and enhanced targeting capabilities have attracted a record 10,165 brand advertisers—a 65% increase from November 2023.

This growth has been accompanied by a 38% rise in eCPM (revenue per 1,000 downloads), which now stands at $75.60, reflecting higher demand and improved pricing across the platform. Showcase's higher gross margins have been instrumental in driving profit growth, positioning Audioboom as a leader in podcast monetization.

Navigating Industry Challenges

The podcasting industry experienced significant shifts in 2024, particularly following Apple’s iOS17 update in late 2023, which reduced inventory levels and cost Audioboom an estimated $15 million in potential revenue. In response, the company shifted its focus to high-margin revenue streams such as Showcase, mitigating the impact of these challenges and boosting overall profitability.

Audioboom expects to close the year with revenue exceeding $73 million, reflecting a strategic pivot toward products with superior gross profit potential. This approach has enabled the company to outpace initial expectations while adapting to evolving market conditions.

Optimistic Outlook for 2025

Looking ahead, Audioboom anticipates revenue growth in 2025 will at least align with the podcast industry’s projected growth of 10%. However, the company’s emphasis on high-quality, high-margin revenue streams is expected to drive significantly higher adjusted EBITDA profits next year.

By building on the momentum of 2024 and leveraging its scalable advertising solutions, Audioboom is well-positioned to capitalize on the continued expansion of the podcasting industry.
