Global Markets: Broader indices in the United States traded in green â particularly, the S&P 500 index traded 8.63 points or 0.26% higher at 3,343.32, Dow Jones Industrial Average Index accelerated by 41.03 points or 0.14% higher at 29,331.88, and the technology benchmark index Nasdaq Composite traded higher at 9,544.55, up by 35.86 points or 0.38% against its previous day close (at the time of writing, before the U.S market close at ET 10:10 AM).
Global News: With the growing confidence in China's efforts to contain the economic breakdown from the coronavirus outbreak, stocks at Wall Street hits new record highs after winning momentum continues for the fourth consecutive trading session. During the Thursdayâs trading session, shares of chipmaker Qualcomm Inc. dipped by around 1.2 per cent. After the medical technology group cut its 2020 guidance, shares of Becton Dickinson and Co plunged by around 10.7 per cent. Kellogg shares slumped by 7.9 per cent, after full year earnings forecast widely missed market expectations. Also, Twitter shares zoomed up by around 17.7 per cent, after the company reported $1 billion in quarterly revenue for the first time. After the tobacco company declared results, Philip Morris International shares accelerated by 3.1 per cent.

European Markets: The Londonâs broader equity benchmark index FTSE 100 traded at 22.31 points or 0.30% higher at 7,504.79, the FTSE 250 index snapped 52.86 points or 0.25% higher at 21,572.86, and the FTSE All-Share Index ended 11.86 points or 0.28% higher at 4,170.89 respectively. Another European equity benchmark index STOXX 600 ended, up by 1.87 points or 0.44 per cent, at 425.49.
European News: Â Â In economic news, The National House Building Council (NHBC) on 6 February 2020 stated that the registration of new homes in the United Kingdom has hit a thirteen-year high backed by the resurgent demand after several months of sluggish growth. The housing market which since 2016 had been in a lean phase, has seen a disparity in demand across the country with the property markets in London seeing the maximum slump in demand and fall in prices than far-flung areas of Scotland. The housing market was not the only one which suffered from the Brexit induced slum, but commercial real estate and the entire construction sector was in doldrums during this period
