FTSE 100 remains range-bound ahead of BoE’s policy meet

US Markets: Broder US indices are trading lower. S&P 500 index traded down by 6 points or 0.14% at 4,623, Dow Jones Industrial Average Index is down by 96 points at 35,955, and the technology benchmark index Nasdaq Composite traded lower at 15,630, down by 24 points, against the previous day close. (At the time of writing – 10:25 AM ET).

US Market News: Shares of the newspaper publisher, New York Times (NYT), was up by 3.9% in the premarket after positive result announcement. The company’s revenue beat the market estimates following higher advertising and digital sales.

Shares of Capri Holdings (CPRI) were up by over 9% in the premarket session after reporting higher quarterly revenues. On the other hand, shares of the storage product manufacturer Tupperware (TUP) were down by over 16%, after its products sales declined due to negative impact from pandemic and below the market estimates.

UK Market News: The UK stock market remained range-bound ahead of tomorrow’s central bank policy meeting. Investors and traders are waiting for a clear direction on the interest rate hike from the central bank. Many economies worldwide are looking for either a rise interest rate or taper the pandemic-led bond-buying program to curb inflation which has risen significantly in major developed economies.

Global Equity Markets trade on a mixed note

Blue Star Capital Plc (LON:BLU): Shares of the investment company continued their surge for the second consecutive day following the announcement by one of its investee companies, SatoshiPay. Pendulum, which is a smart contract network of SatoshiPay, has raised USD 5 million from private investors. As a result, Blue Star Capital stock has raised over 93% in the last two trading sessions.

Trainline (LON: TRN): The travel information and ticket service provider’s shares were down by over 9% following its half-yearly results announcement. The stock price declined despite reporting growth in revenue and ticket sales.

Micro Focus International Plc (LON: MCRO): Shares of the software service provider was up by over 8% after it agreed to sell its Archiving and Risk Management portfolio to Smarsh Inc. for cash consideration of USD 375 million, which will be payable in the first quarter of 2022.
