Phase one activation of new Paraguay site establishes one hundred megawatts of mining infrastructure
Planned deployment of over eight thousand proprietary BUZZ Miners and acquisition of advanced rigs
Local leadership team strengthened to oversee accelerated operations and maintenance
The cryptocurrency mining sector is central to the operation of distributed ledgers and digital asset ecosystems. As demand for proof‑of‑work consensus mechanisms grows, operators invest in infrastructure to increase computational throughput. HIVE Digital Technologies has advanced with a major rollout in South America, targeting boosted hashing capacity and operational scale.
Phase One Data Centre Activation
Phase one of the new data centre in Paraguay reached its operational milestone with completion of one hundred megawatts at the Yguazù facility. This initial build‑out lays the groundwork for expanded power delivery and cooling logistics tailored to high‑density mining hardware. The site design incorporates modular power substations and redundant grid connections to support continuous uptime and predictable energy consumption.
Infrastructure Capacity Expansion
Following the initial infrastructure energisation, the company intends to ramp capacity towards multiple exahash of computing power. Existing operations produce in the order of two hundred petahashes per second, utilising HIVE’s proprietary BUZZ Miners. The phased growth approach allows for gradual integration of additional power modules, enabling progressive increases in hash rate without compromising site stability.
Equipment Upgrades and Integration
Equipment inventory at the Paraguay location will grow through deployment of the firm’s bespoke BUZZ mining units alongside newly acquired high‑efficiency rigs. Plans call for installation of more than eight thousand in‑house miners, complemented by a shipment of next‑generation machines from leading original equipment manufacturers. On‑site infrastructure for rack mounting and power distribution has been pre‑configured to streamline installation and commissioning processes.
Leadership and Operational Guidance
Strategic oversight of the expansion is provided by senior operations leadership committed to maintaining focus on performance benchmarks and maintenance schedules. The chief operating officer coordinates with engineering teams to align site commissioning with network difficulty fluctuations. Control room operations feature real‑time telemetry dashboards that monitor hash rate, power draw and ambient conditions for proactive fault detection.
Local Management and Project Oversight
A local operations manager has joined the Paraguay project management office to lead daily execution and stakeholder engagement. Collaboration with regional contractors ensures adherence to construction timelines and environmental standards. The country operations president provides executive governance, liaising with national grid operators and local authorities to guarantee regulatory compliance and grid stability throughout scale‑up phases.
