Sky Network Television Limited (NZX:SKT) has provided an update on some media reports regarding the South African Rugby Union (SARU) and SANZAAR. The company has clearly stated that it has right to broadcast all premium rugby content, like Bledisloe Cup and The Rugby Championship matches, in New Zealand under the current SANZAAR arrangements. Also, the company has partnership agreement with New Zealand Rugby which offers it exclusive rights to non-SANZAAR matches played in the country until 2025.
Milk Production in New Zealand up by 5.3%
The total milk production in New Zealand was up by 5.3% Y-o-Y in August. However, milk production for the 12 months to August was 0.2% lower than last year. Total New Zealand dairy exports declined by 6.1% Y-o-Y, or 16,413 MT, in July. Exports for the 12 months to July decreased by 1.3%, or 45,866 MT, primarily driven by SMP, AMF, fluid milk products and cheese. Exports from Australia decreased by 1.4% in July and exports from EU and USA increased by 17.8% and 21.5%, respectively.
Commerce Commission’s New Guidelines To Ensure Non-Discrimatory Services To All
The Government’s initiative to provide Ultra-Fast Broadband to its 87% population by 2022 got a sabre tooth today when the Commerce Commission released guidance, which will ensure non-discriminatory services to the retailers.
The Telecommunications Commissioner, Tristan Gilbertson, said on the occasion that release of the guidance would provide the industry with clarity on the obligations under Telecommunications Act. The commissioner also emphasised on the role of retailers and said they need to raise issues with Local Fibre Companies if the services do not match the obligations.
